These Images were produced during my MA. They are part of a much larger collection of Luggage Tags written with emotive prose that were created and distributed across Central London during the Summer of 2006.
The purpose of the act of distribution was to engage an unsuspecting audience into returning the tags or emailing me to inform me that they had collected and kept them. I wanted to explore the process of making connections. We are living in a society where our social life is experienced and fascilitated through technology. I wanted to explore a more traditional form of communication still relying on the writen word but exploring the unpredictable participation of an unsusspecting audience. The prose varied from questions about life and love, to instructions and invitations to action. Some were lost, Many were taken, some returned by post with completed prose and further questions. It was a very exciting piece of Community art work, that I very much wish to explore further in the future. Hope you enjoy them! |
